Welcome to the Canberra Prisoner Homepage

Welcome to the all-new Canberra Prisoner Homepage. After 9 years offline after
giving up our losing battle against Channel 10, we are finally back, to celebrate
the full release of Prisoner on DVD. After
many years of pressure from Prisoner fans throughout the world, Shock
DVD has embarked on by far the biggest DVD project I have ever heard of
by any DVD company or for any DVD project — the release of all 692 episodes
of Prisoner on DVD — they are now describing it as the "biggest
boxset in the world"[1]
No more waiting for Channel 10 to bring back Prisoner, and no more
fighting losing battles with TV stations to return Prisoner and show
it in its entirety. The days of VHS recordings of Prisoner are over,
hopefully for good. So far, the first 288 episodes have been
released, and in about a year's time, we will all have a collection of 692 pristine-quality
episodes like how they were broadcast from the Ten Network, and for keeps.
- News on the DVDs can be found here,
and at On The
Inside — The Official Prisoner Website.
- We are starting a new page, unlocking the secrets
behind the music used in Prisoner episodes, and in other TV dramas.
- We will also attempt to unlock other secrets behind the production and distribution
of Prisoner, like the archival status of the original tapes owned
by Grundy/Fremantle, and what goes on or went on, with the distribution by
Grundy's parent company, FremantleMedia.
- Returning are our old favourites, including the criminal records of the
inmates serving time or have served time at the Wentworth Detention Centre,
questions about the series we will attempt to answer, and storyline highlights
from the series.
Please note that this site is being run on a trial basis only, and availability
will depend largely on the availability of the servers, which is subject to restrictions
such as how many MB of data are allowed to be downloaded per day or month.
